Description

This module introduces the fundamentals of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and how these can be applied to the analysis of machines. The importance of solid mechanics, dynamics and heat transfer are highlighted through a series of practical engineering examples. Methodologies for developing a robust modelling strategy are introduced including convergence, validation and benchmarking to enable the extraction of reliable and conclusive data to support efficient fault diagnosis, process and product development.
